Architect's Background
Andrew C. Houng, AIA
Houng graduated from NCKU in 1974, immediately joined the exciting world of architecture and worked for an architectural firm in Taipei. He acquired Architect License in Taiwan after 5 Years of working experience. Then he went to USA to further his study in architecture.
Architect Houng received a master degree in architecture from University of Houston in Texas, USA in 1981 and become a licensed architecture in the States shortly after. He had worked a total of 13 years in the States before returning to Taiwan in 1993. It has been a rewarding 29 years working here and making contributions to the Taiwan Society. Most of his projects involve public buildings such as hospitals and schools, privately owned industrial buildings such as high-tech laboratories.
Architect Houng trust professional's expertise, emphasize integration of technologies and believe in achieving higher standard on architectural design. All of his employees have architectural education background and are always trying to improve themselves. They all strive to be the best in our architecture design field so that they are constantly absorbing new information from the"True Architectural Society" where different professionals freely share their ideas. He truly appreciates the society's encouragement and support by recognizing the strength that his architectural firm possesses.
Architect's vision & promises
I. Create a true、perfect and beautiful living environment：
- The vision for architectural design is to invent new concepts in order to create a wonderful living environment. Since architecture is part of our daily lives, we need to design a living space where we feel happy, content and comfortable. Furthermore, challenging ourselves to gain more knowledge about beautifying our environment has invigorated us to achieve higher design standard for our clients.
II. Provide services with an ethical & conscientious attitude：
- We regard every project seriously. And because of this earnest attitude, we bring efficiency and avoid unnecessary mistakes and wastes from start to finish. Therefore, we are able to produce the best design that is most satisfactory to our clients because of our ethical and conscientious attitudes.
III. Management ability and integration of various professionals：
- Architecture is a multi-aspect and complicated profession. One can not ignore the importance of gathering and integrating each professional's knowledge and experience such as the contributions from structure, electrical engineers, plumbers, air conditioning technician, etc. I believe that architects can no longer work alone and risk loosing the opportunity of obtaining the most valuable knowledge that other professionals can offer. We emphasize "team work" and integration of professional is our strength.
IV. Architect's self challenge：
- Architect believes that every one of us can expand our horizon by learning different things everyday. That's why there is "continuing education" requirement for architects in USA. Architects can update themselves with the newest ideas, technologies and information. I, thereby, established the "True Architecture Society" in Taichung, in order to encourage exchange of information and knowledge.
